Hi! Welcome to my blog my dear readers. Today, I'm going to present you my favourite film. The name of the film is 'Fantastic Mr. Fox'. It's a stop-motion film directed by Wes Anderson. All of the characters and the places are miniature figures and they are exhibited on a museum right now. Actually, this is one of the important reason why I love this film that much. All of the animal dolls and their costumes and the background places were made by hand. Don't you think that is awsome?
The director has very special style. If you look at his filmography you will definetly see different colour themes. This one is mustard yellow, orange and brown themed. It reminds us autumn and gives us cozy feelings. While I'm watching this film, this colour scale made me feel warm.
I wrote my favourite lines of the film on the upper lines of the first paragraph. I rewatched this film more than once and never get bored of it, so I have many favourite lines but I think this one is the main idea of the film. If you watch Fantastic Mr. Fox you will see that the animals disguised as humans. They are acting like humans, in fact they have human jobs. They act against their nature. For example, at the beginning of the film Mr. Fox and his family live in a hole. This is very normal, foxes live in holes. But, Mr. Fox doesn't want to live there anymore. He has a conversation with his wife and he tell her that sentence:
- I don't want to live in a hole anymore, it makes me feel poor.
Then his wife tell him:
- We are poor but we're happy.
This scene is one of the most important scene because this is beginning of everything. They're moving into a new tree house but it hasn't bring the happiness he searched for. We see the Mr. Fox is searching himself throughout the film. He wants to feel enough for his family, for himself, for whole world. He wants to feel enough compare to other animals. While these are happening his wild animal personality and his human alike personality collide with each other. He doesn't feel good about himself because he think he is only good at normal fox things. I guess, this is my favourite part on the storyline because I can relate myself with Mr. Fox. I feel incapable most of the time. I feel like I'm always in the wrong situation and doing the wrong things, telling the wrong words. I think this is the reason why I don't feel good about myself.
Although it may seem like a animation for children at first glance, people of all ages can find something for themselves because all of the film is just a metaphor, or we can find something for ourselves because end of the day all of us are just wild animals.
